I would have given this product a 5 star rating, except the cases came reeking of a nasty fish smell!!! none of the other things i ordered with this smelled (just the normal new plastic smell for the others) so its with the cases themself. i currently have them airing out in my garage going on about 16 hrs now and they still smell of fish.
This is my second time ordering from this site and my first time ordering this particular product. I love the value you get here and everything has always come undamaged and packaged/shipped extremely well. Even with the double cases smelling... everything else i purchased now or in the past has been super. I will DEFINATELY buy from shop4tech again as i will let the smelly cases be a slip and forgivable.

These cases are a great value for the price. They are some of the cheapest double disc, standard size DVD cases I could find. The disc locking mechanism works great. They also snap closed and open easily.
The reason I rated them 4 out of 5 is because they seem to wear out easily. The plastic sleeve on the second case that I made an insert for started to tear. It appears that they sleeve was weak to begin with, however. All it took was me sliding the DVD insert into place, which caused the plastic sleeve to begin to rip off on one side.
These are definitely great cases though if you will be storing them on a shelf or anywhere where they won't be handled often. Just beware of the fact that it doesn't take much before these cases start showing signs of use.

I just received my order last week and was pleasantly surprised. The packaging was EXCELLENT! They double-boxed the cases, along with bubble wrap. I ordered cases before from another website and they were pretty badly packaged compared to these. This company obviously takes pride in their product arriving in good condition. I found this even more impressive since the shipping was free! Usually you get the lowest of the low kind of packaging with free shipping, but not with these guys! =) But enough about the shipping...the cases all arrived in perfect condition. These are obviously made from recycled plastic (you can tell by the smell - a little unique but not bad- but better for the environment!). The locking mechanism on these cases are actually better than the cases that I paid more $ for on a different site. Conclusion: Great product, great price! Not only will I order again, but I just placed another order for other products, just based on the quality, customer service, and great shipping on the DVD case order. By the way, these cases arrived in no time! HIGHLY suggest these cases! As long as this quality continues, they'll have a customer for life!

I've been buying cases here for about a year - several thousand - and they were absolutely great till recently. I don't know if you changed manufacturers or what but the cases are lighter and I'm now getting reports from my DVD customers that the cases are arriving at their locations broken. That is disappointing because I went through several sellers of cases before coming here and finding a good quality case at a reasonable price. I hope you go back to the old manufacturer or if it is the same one, you get them to change back to the heavier case design.

Good cases for the price. I have bought 150-200 cases in the last year, have had no problems at all. Cases are a little more flimsy than a store bought DVD, but I'd expect that for the price of these. DVD's seems to snap in nice in the locking device. I will be ordering more soon. Free shipping is a big bonus too!!

Nice case. All were in good condition when arrived. Not to crazy about the locking mechanism, but it seems to work well. Will definitely order more at this price.

Original shipment came with 7 out of 25 broken cases. Were packed very poorly and broke during shipping. Emailed customer service and they immediately sent out replacement cases. Would have been 2 stars but no-hassle customer service made it into a 5 star transaction. Will do business with again.

I have bought about 200 of these cases over the past few years and they are still working great. I might of had 2 or 3 cracked cases during shipping out of 200, not bad. I am about to order 50 more.

The cases are near commercial quality and Shop4Tech sells them at a very good price with free shipping. I'm giving these DVD cases 3 out of 5 because the only problem I had was when the 50 DVD cases that ordered arrived some of them were slightly scratched on the clear acetate outer cover. I guess during transit they where hitting against each other and were slightly scratched, mainly on the edges. This means the sheet below the acetate cover won't look clear because of the abrasion marks. I guess if each case had a some sort of separator or were shrunk wrapped this would not be an issue.

I ordered 200 of these for my new videography business. I love them. They may be a little thinner than Block Buster's, but I like the hub infinitely better. And it is a real bonus to be able to give the bride her video and montage discs all in one case. Can free up some space on the shelf for the home user also. Will be ordering again, maybe the single cases for when that is all I need.

These cases are great! came in a nice oversized box with a bunch of bubble wrap. cases were all intact. i dont think they are as cheaply made as other people are making them out to be! and of course free shipping is amazing! even though it took 6 days to get here. will do business with again!!!!

These double black 14mm dvd cases are good for the $$$. They are a bit flimsier (but only slightly) than the amaray cases. But I like the locking mechanism better than the amaray (offical DVD cases for the industry). While the locking amaray mechanism seems really nice (DVD's pop in and literally pop OUT-and-UP very smoothly), the DVDs freely spin in the amaray's while in these no-brand Shop4tech's the DVDs are held better into place. The DVD lock in to place a bit more snugly and make a 4 point contact above the DVD as opposed to the amary's 2 point contacts. The 4 point contacts are notably 'thinner' in the clicking sounds they make as the DVD's go in, so you do get the 'feeling' that the shop4tech might be a lower quality mechanism (it is a 4 leaf design connected to a central button, the 4 locking tabs are about 1/2 size of the amary's 2 locking tabs. the amaray design is a 2 leaf mechanism which are NOT attached to a central button, thus they POP UP a larger distance and will literally launch the DVDs in to your hands or spill uncontrollably out of the DVD case... in the Shop4tech 4-leaf-low button travel design this does not happen). The position of the DVDs are just fine they wont touch eacother and the bottoms of the DVD's are suspended in air so they wont get scratched. My only concern is shippment of DVDs. I don't know what will happen in crushing injury if you have 2 dvd's in the box and your package gets packed in between heavier packages. The shop4tech buttons WILL touch the dvd's on the opposite side... this is not too much of a problem for DVD's as the tops of DVD's are HARD coated, while on CD-R's they are soft coated and you can literally see your fingernail pressure on the bottom side of a CD-R (thus don't use a ball point pen to write on a CD-R, ahem...or be wary to ship CD-Rs in these double DVD cases). I tried to crush the box with 2 DVD's in all sorts of configurations and the DVD's wouldn't fall out, so that's a good sign. The amaray cases seem 'slightly' more resistant to crushing deformations. The Amaray cases with the internal DVD leaf insert, seems to be idea for shipping, as the DVDs are separated by a plastic 'page', but I will try and ship with teh Shop4techs anyway (they are lighter and will thus be less expensive to ship via USPS). I will let you know of the results.
Why 4 stars? Out of the 25 I bought, 2 were defective (one tab of the case locking mechanism on two cases were broken). And after ordering from CT on Feb 24 they arrived Mar 5 which means 9 days shipping. I got free shipping which is great, but beware, there is wear and tear on the boxes, not sure if from shipping, it was packaged with 1 large piece of bubble wrap on one side of the box. Many of the thin plastic sheet holders of the DVD cases seemed scuffed up which annoyed me, but now I don't even notice it when I put in a cover printed from cdcovers.cc ... and I already forgot about the scuffs now that its sitting on my shelf. I will do business again with Shop4tech and buy some more single sideds and more double sideds!

These are cheap cases at a cheap price. If you want top quality cases get something else, but if you just want a case that does the job these will do nicely. a few were broken when i got them, but hey... they are only a few cents each so its still a good deal. I'd recommend them and I'm going to buy more myself.

I have single standard black case and these double cases also. Both cases are very nice and extremely well put together. If you are in the need for a case that holds two discs with no problems look no further. I have ordered more then 200 of these cases and I have not had one single problem. The only disadvantage with going with these cases is if you want to have a insert on the inside with your chapter list that is not possible with these. Most Hollywood releases dont even contain these chapter inserts anymore so its really not a big issue. So if you need a good case to hold two discs go with these ones, if you need a good case to hold one disc I recommend the standard single dvd case sold by Shop 4 tech also.

these cases aren't as heavy duty as OEM cases, but they do do the job. I ordered a 100 pack, used ~75 to date. I am getting 100 more shortly. Good for home use, but maybe not for professional distribution.

I ordered 25 of these standard dual DVD cases and got them 8 days later. A few of the other reviewers wrote that these cases are of a less quality than ‘professional’ cases. I have to disagree. Some of the companies out there are selling DVDs in some extremely cheap cases. Shop4tech’s ‘standard’ dual cases are far better quality than those cheap cases I mentioned. Now, these cases aren’t heavy duty like Blockbuster or other video rental places, so I don’t recommend throwing them around like a Frisbee, but for those of use that just plan on using them to STORE a disk on a SHELF somewhere, these cases at these prices can’t be beat. Print an insert, put the case on a shelf, and save yourself some money with these. They have the same inside hubs built like a little mound with a button to release each disk, just like all the other good quality cases. For quality testing, I put a couple disks in and closed the case, held the case by one corner and shook the case vigorously, and the disks didn’t come off the hubs. Then, dropping the case from about 4 feet up in various ways, I simulated dropping the cases. The disks stayed in place. Shop4Tech’s black plastic ‘STANDARD’ dual DVD cases, pass all my tests with flying colors. Good quality and low cost.
